This year there will be no Fireworks at Marina Bay like previous years, instead a light show “Shine A Light” has been installed for the whole month of December at the Promontory.

There will however 11 locations in the heartlands where small fireworks will be set off just like National Day on August 9th.

On a side note I shall add “watch from my balcony” to the list 😉

PS: This was shot with the iPhone12ProMa, the night mode setting, hand-held 3s and 0.5zoom. Slightly post processed within the iPhone native camera app.

PS2: Unless I would want to print it very big I don’t see the benefit of hauling by big camera, tripod, etc… when I find this photo perfectly find.

Life… it’s all about perspective.

/pəˈspɛktɪv/ a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Just like this dress. People see a triangle pattern when they look at me but from my point of view it’s rows and rows of little boats. I never thought about people seeing it differently that what I was seeing until a friend sat next to me one day and said oh there are little boats not weird triangles. 😂

2020 was an interesting year… to say the least.

It forced us to slow down or we can see it as it allowed us to slow down without any guilt.

It forced us to look at our priorities or we can see it as it allowed us to prioritize our priorities without any guilt.

It forced us” or “It allowed us”… it’s all about perspectives and how we want to see things.

The week between Christmas and the New Year is like a no man’s land.

Suspended time between festivities.

But we’ve been in suspended time this whole year so what is one more week. But one must also not think that everything will just go back to what it was back in 2019.

(Non alcoholic) Cheers from my balcony nonetheless.

Sunday Quote; “Try To Be A Rainbow In Someone’s Cloud” ~Maya Angelou

Let’s be the rainbows in 2021

When you walk slowly and open your eyes you see signs all around you… even on a chair

When you decide to just give up on the year 2020 even your Christmas tree suffer. 😉

Let’s hope I don’t find lumps of coal in my shoes tomorrow morning… because I’ve been a very good girl. 😉

However these silk tofu covered with charcoal were excellent.

Christmas lunched in Asia are not quite what I’m used to but it’s more about the people you share it with anyway.

After the gondola ride, I also got to go to the sky deck on top of Marina Bay Sand .

While I have been on top of MBS, it’s always interesting to go with local people because they don’t do these sort of things all the time (my friends parents hadn’t been in 10 years!)

It reminded me of living in Paris in the 1990 and I had to drag some of my Parisian friends to the deemed tourist places (Pompidou center, Eiffel Tower, Montmartre….). I guess you get used to a place and always think you have time to go. As temporary residents we tend to embrace the places more deeply.

It was a fun afternoon with my dear Singaporean friend and I appreciate her for including me. PS: I might have known facts then them… when the tourist teaches the local 😉
