Tale of a Total TaiTai who was in Beijing & Beyond and is now in Singapore & Surroundings!

I think I’ve taken a picture of this graffiti every single time I’ve came to Paris!!

With the clouds around it looks like the graffiti has hair 😉

Cafe with a view of the fountains called “Homage to Stravinsky” designed by Jean Tingley.

This is the shop with the tagged store front I took a picture of a few weeks ago.

It looks quite inviting when it’s open!

Dinner al fresco.

Stop for a drink, for some nibbles or even a full dinner.

Terraces in Paris in the summer are always very lively.

This is not a Shoe Repair Shop (“Cordonnier”)

It’s a cafe… called Boot Cafe 😉

I love that lots of stores in Paris keep the original facade. Some are quite beautiful.

We used to live in Les Halles when we were students in Paris.

This is the new Halles. It was nicknamed the “the stomach” of he city because for centuries it was the hub of all food distribution in the city (meat, fish and fruit & vegetables markets). The original steel arches covering the main market were designed by Baltard and looked like the support structures still visible at Gare du Nord and St Lazard or even the Musee d’Orsay.

The market became so impractical with the traffic (a little like those whole markets in Beijing being moved to the suburbs 😉) that it was moved in the 1960s. The removal of the arcades left a gaping hole for many years and was eventually converted into a multi-story underground shopping mall and metro station.

This new transformation of the structure and surrounding gardens started in 2013 and has just been completed.

We got the stamp of approval. I guess we are definitely moving to Singapore. 🙂
