Enjoying the view of the Alps with the Vercors, Chartreuse and Belledone Massifs all around and valley in the middle.

Our summer house is less than a block away from a very popular canyoning side.
I hear their “scream” but I’ve never really seen them in action till
“Take a different road and you’ll have a different perspective”.
View from above of my childhood village (well this is actually the newly developed neighborhood above the actual village).
On the top picture we can see a lake, which is part of the Golf club now but used to belong to the family of one of my best friend and I spent countless hours there and the surrounded woods. Good time, very good time!
One of the main avenue, Cours Jean Jaures/Cours de la Liberation going from the Isere River toward the Belledonne chain.
While Grenoble is the gateway to numerous ski resort it’s actually not very high up (altitude is only around 200m)
Follow the river (Isere), behind the mountains is my little bit of French paradise… Funnily named La Riviere!
View from above.
Isere River and the French Alps. More precisely:
Straight up “Belledonne”, to the right “Le Vercors” and behind (the photographer!) “La Chartreuse”.
Cable car terminal at the top of La Bastille.
The cable car is one of the oldest in the world, built in 1934. the other two are Rio de Janeiro and Cape Town.
Now that we are at the top lets go see the view.
Quick visit to Grenoble.
Having friends visit make you play tour guide and it’s a good thing. You would usually not bother going to those places because you’ve been already but then you realize it might have been 10, 15 or 20 years ago!!
I need more visitors, I have places I want to check… Oh wait I could go by myself too!!
