Don’t be afraid to stop on your path, engage with your surrounding, people crave connections.

A simple hello can lead you to a 15-mn exchange learning about the neighborhood, what kind of vegetable she was preparing and what dish she was going to make for lunch to talking of their trips to Las Vagas or Hawaii.

Another outing in my favorite neighborhood of Tiong Bahru, this time with the AWA photography group. While I enjoy it, I find that photography is actually an activity that I quite enjoy doing on my own but it was a great way to kick my own butt reminding me I need to schedule time on my (non busy 😜) calendar for wandering the streets of Singapore.

For a split second I thought one of my favorite little bookstore had closed.

No they have just decided to be extra cautious. Plus it might be cheaper for them to stay close than reopen for long hours with few customers.

Laundry day in Tiong Bahru.

Oh funny that we often take pictures of clothes drying when we are in foreign countries and find it quaint (I’m looking at you Spain and Italy) but would never think of doing it in our own country because we would find it boring 🤔😂

Here’s a filler photos (when I don’t have anything exciting to talk about that day 😉) from one of my favorite neighborhood and one that I will make an effort to still go visit even after I don’t have a car anymore.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s…
ok just coffee but with every Singaporeans Instagramers 😂

A week-long collaboration between the American jeweller and homegrown French café chain Tiong Bahru Bakery, visitors can recreate their very own Breakfast at Tiffany’s moment, complete with croissant and all.
Besides the cart and cups being rendered in Tiffany’s signature Robin’s egg blue, the collaboration also features classic references to New York City, including bodegas filled with buckets of paper flowers, paperboy bicycles and Tiffany Blue traffic cones.

See kids can survive a lunch without their phone 😉

Finally made it to Merci Marcel before the big rush of brunch goers. Their Croque Marcel was delicious and they even have Ravioles which is a pasta dish from my region in France!!

I’m so in love with the Tiong Bahru neighborhood.
