I think I take a picture of this Peranakan shophouse each and every time I walk by.
Tonight en route to the opening of a friend’s art exhibition I parked nearby and once again I grabbed my phone to immortalize the scene. There’s always something interesting outside the door; be a bench, a bike or like today a bright red umbrella and a pair of flip flops.

Trying to finally implement all that I have (re)learned: layering, separation, shadows, highlights, etc.
But also going with my guts feeling and photographing the way I want and feel comfortable. Following my own path. Because at the end there’s only one person I need to please and it’s myself.
It’s all about the journey not just the destination

Another month or so and the temperature should go back to “suitable for scooter riding” so I can go back to exploring.
They usually do not like when you take photos, she however smiled back at me.
