When you start to be comfortable in your training, coach Denes like to throw some nice surprise at us… like attaching 2 canoes together.

The Spring Festival celebrations officially end tonight with the lantern festival 元宵节-YuanXiao Jie (15th day of the first lunar month).

Everything’s back to normal and everybody’s back to work.

15-Feb-2022: D-124 before departure

Spring Festival (春节-ChunJie) is the official name of the Chinese New Year which technically should be called Lunar New Year since it isn’t celebrated only in China but also in Korea and Vietnam (Tet) and places with a significant overseas Chinese population.

But I guess calling Spring festival while we are still in the middle of winter is not really helping

~~~Just a little FYI So for my last 200 days in Singapore I have decided to reblog, in no special order, a post from the 6 years I will have spent on the Little Red Dot. PS: you will then get 2 posts a day!!~~~
Singapore nickname the Garden City is not in vain.
The complex is not even finished being built that some greenery are already in place.
I can’t believe I posted 5000 times*.
It all started 7 years and 7 months ago by this introduction post as we were embarking on our second posting in China, followed a couple days later with this one (and the explanation of the name!) and then EVERY single days since then.
For the ones who have been following since the beginning THANK YOU for your fidelity, and for those who came along during the ride welcome and thank you too. I appreciate every single one of you. 🥰
PS: This is not a good bye post, I will continue until I leave Singapore. So you’ve got 15 more months or around 500 posts (easy peasy)
NB: *all of the 5000 posts have been mine, no re post from other (quite common on tumblr). Double proud 😉
Wednesday Wanderers Wonder
From time to time I stumble upon little pocket of China life in Singapore.
Fish drying on the sidewalk.
This almost brought a tear to my eye.
Old people exercising in the (Chinese) Garden.
I miss my wandering around Beijing.
The parks in the early morning were my favorite.
Went to a shop and thought we were back in China, even the prices looked (almost) ok.
Until we realized they were not in RMB but in Singapore Dollars (or about 5 times higher.
S$100 does not equal 100RMB but 500!)
Little humor.
Movers: Absolutely zero spices or teas allowed in the shipment due to containers being left outside in the sun.
Us: how about electric bikes or over boards with lithium batteries?
Movers: oh yes no problem with those
And finally the furniture.
See you in Singapore 😉
