Throw Back Week – Our Only CNY Break trip 2015 in Boracay, The Philippines.

You might be thinking well it was great seeing all those December Break Trips flashback but when will she be posting the Chinese New Year Break trips then?!

Well we’ve only been on a trip for Chinese New Year in 2015 and we went to Boracay in the Philippines (divine) mostly because the CNY break is usually barely a month after the Christmas/NewYear break and it’s the largest annual human migration in the world and not worth fighting for at the airport when you live in China (and by extension Asia)

Nevertheless here’s the link to our only Chinese New Year Break trip… Enjoy: https://atotaltaitaitale.tumblr.com/tagged/c&jThePhilippines/chrono

Just a reminder: Inspired by the Throw Back Thursday of our summer vacation I did in July and August and the Throw Back Week of our October Break vacations, I’m revisiting the idea once again with a Throw Back Week of the small trips (except the one in Sydney which was a longer one) we usually take between Christmas and the New Year for the past 6 years.

It’s not because we cannot physically travel that we cannot at least escape in our head. Enjoy the trip down memory lane

Throw Back Week – December Break 2015 in Koh Samui, Thailand

Another trip to Thailand but Koh Samui island deserved her own post. Back in 2015 it was still an “under discovered” piece of paradise and its airport was my all time favorite quaint airport (the old one not the new building that is now!) you felt like you had landed right by your little resorts and were ushered in those little tram to the receptions 🥰. Like everything else it has changed a lot but we cherish those memories. Edit: this was actually our second time in Koh Samui so what I meant was back in 2008 it was an “under discovered” piece of paradise and its airport was my all time favorite quaint airport (the old one not the new building that is now in 2015!) but glad that they kept the tram and the airport kept some of its quaintness. We’ve had to many trips to keep up with the dates 🙄

Throw Back Week – December Break 2016 in Sydney & Gold Coast, Australia

We have been wanting to go to Australia since we moved to Asia in 2006 but it was still quite a journey from Beijing and the kids were very young. When we moved to Singapore it seems like the time was right to finally go visit our Australian friends we had met 16 years earlier in Buenos Aires and finally set foot for the first time on this continent/country. We were not disappointed!! To see the pictures of this amazing trip you’ll have to follow the link: https://atotaltaitaitale.tumblr.com/tagged/c&jAustralia/chrono

Throw Back Week – December Break 2017 in Penang & Langkawi, Malaysia

This was a different kind of trip as the first half was just me and the kids exploring Penang and its Street Art (worth clicking on the link just for that 😉) and the local food and then the second half was the whole family relaxing for a few days in Langkawi island. Throw Back Week – December Break 2018, 2014 and 2013 in Phuket, Thailand

Thailand is an easy destination when you are living in Asia (plus one was a return trip -2014- since I won a few nights at the JW Marriott thanks to a picture taken in 2013 😉). To see the pictures of those trips you’ll have to follow the different link (I didn’t feel like updating all the posts with a single tag!) if you only want to check one, 2014 is the one 😉

It’s vacation time!!!

Throw Back Week – December Break 2019 in Perth & Margaret River, Australia

If you’ve been following for at least the last 6 months you will know that since we cannot physically travel I’m trying to at least escape in our head with Throw Back posts of our past vacations.

This summer I did a Throw Back Thursday of our summer vacations of the past 6 years (because that’s how far back this blog goes!).  I revisited the idea again with Throw Back Week with our October Break vacations so it seems fitting to do it again with our Christmas Break vacation but I never managed to have time to post them during our Christmas break (too much other content to post!) and since we seem to not go anywhere during our Chinese New Year Break (Surprise!!) I’ve decided to take this week to post our retrospective December Break posts 😉

So once again enjoy the trips down memory lane… for those of you who have been following since the beginning of this blog and for the others the chance to discover old postings 😉
