Monday Murals… well my own Christmas Mural 😉

I invited some friends to help out with the Christmas decorations 😉

I have had the Christmas tree piece of fabric from IKEA for years and it’s been a feature on my Facebook for years (I usually open the Christmas season with me ironing my “Christmas tree”)

I have added the Chimney this year, which I designed and had it print with Spoonflower.

I made the paper folded ornaments in a workshop and they are from my friend Kaelie from Colored Paper Factory. The Christmas cards on the mantle are from my friend Tatyana from Kildi Photo.

#ShopLocally and #SupportFriendsBusiness.

And this is the end of our Silk Road plane/train/road trip.

There is so much you can share through pictures and words, but there’s so much more when you are actually there. Seeing it with your own eyes, the pictures you didn’t take, those little furtive glances of daily life, those chitchat which give you little insider knowledge, it’s all about the feelings you get when you are actually in a place. And it’s especially true with trips to certain part of the world. I could talk for hours but not everything can be written because of so many factors involved.

Keep traveling. Experience the world with your family, with your bestie or even by yourself. Your badly taken pictures are worth so much more, because of the feelings and memories it will bring back, than the best photos from a book.

My own little planet among plastic cups.

That’s the end of my 2-weeks of volunteering on Photographer Benjamin Von Wong’s Plastikophobia Project.

It was great working with different people and volunteers. I always enjoy the behind the scene so it was great seeing it in person and the evolution of the project.

Time for another one of my little planet.

I really wanted to see the Kebun Baru Birdsinging Club with all the birds.
When I went a couple weeks ago with my friend it was during the week and approaching noon so we didn’t see it at its full potential!

I dragged hubby at 9:30am Sunday morning and we got lucky as there were a bird singing competition. Plus Yip Yew Chong, the artist featured on my Monday Murals post, was painting a wall in the neighborhood… 2 photo op for the price of one!!!

Well to be fair hubby has no problem with the early weekend start but dangle photo opportunity in front of my nose and I’ll get up early too ;-).

I sent our Christmas New Year’s card yesterday so I know from experience that the traffic on my blog increases significantly for a few days ;-).

Browse all you want (some cheeky posts, some boring posts) and if you want the shortcut for the posts of our trips, it’s here (sorry WordPress readers I cannot do the same link for you so you’ll have to see it on Tumblr!)

While you are at it… like, comment and/or subscribe 😉

It’s almost time to leave our little paradise in Langkawi. After the many walks we took in Penang, we took time to relax by the pool or by the beach and catch up on books in Langkawi.

This time of the year can be crazy busy. Hope you are also taking a little bit of time to relax.

Bonus picture: Made a little detour to go admire the view on top of Juletong Tower and made (very quickly, I was with inpatient people!) one of my little planet

On our visit to the 50th Floor at Pinnacle @ Duxton I got a chance to make a 360 panorama (no crowd) and create one of my little planet.
It’s been too long since the last one
