Wednesday Woodworking Workshop – Week 3

Let’s carve those arms too.

Travisher…. we meet again. After working with you so many time I’ve learned to like you.

Our relationship didn’t start well. I tried to avoid you for the longest time but frankly for some jobs you cannot be avoided so I made peace with you and learnt to work hand in hand with you. I might even admit I like you now.

Wednesday Woodworking Workshop – Week 1

They let me use big machinery.

This is my 4th project with the team and when I started the scope of the projects were not as detailed. Nowadays we trim the process to ensure faster outcome. The cut on the bandsaw are a lot closer hence the carving are faster.

I love seeing how much Gangjun’s workshop has evolved and grew.

Wednesday Woodworking Workshop – Week 1

It always starts with some pieces of wood that need to be trimmed, then curved before being assembled.

In between, there’s a lot of sweat, a few bad words might be muttered under one’s breath, maybe a few thoughts of quitting but at the end it’s all worth it… hence why I keep on coming back.

Right now I’m just mad at myself for forgetting to take a photo right at the beginning before I cut the pieces of wood but it’s all good.

Wednesday Woodworking Workshop – 4th Project.

This is what I’m doing this time… a bit of a puzzle just like the pieces of the wood I need to shape and assemble. Oh and this time there is a twist… they will be some upholstery too.

Well since I restarted my Monday Murals posts, I thought I should restart my Wednesday Series too.

It could have been the Wednesday Wanderers Wonder but it looks like I’m back with Wednesday Woodworking Workshop.

My woodwork workshop had a pop up at MUJI.

I went to say hi, introduce hubby and I might have eyed one of their new chair design.

How quickly you forget the “painful” process of handcrafted piece.

Wednesday Woodworking Workshop.

Woodturning is a whole new way for me to work with wood and with just the slightest move (wrong move?) you can change the whole shape of and object. Very similar to my pottery class last year.

I’m done with Woodworking. I’ve looked at their website for new projects…. there are a few I love but I’m thinking of all the time commitment it involves and I’m not sure I’m up for it quite yet. But who knows, after awhile you tend to forget and jump right back into it 😜

Woodworking Workshop Wednesday – Project #4: Woodturning Bowl

Last Wednesday Woodworking Workshop posting

J and I did a little one-day woodworking project together. This one involved woodturning and we ended up with a little wood bowl that he gifted to his dad.

And here are my woodworking projects of 2018:
A chair
A table
A stool
And some little photos holders I made in between projects.

What should my 2019 hobby be?
