Since our founding in the 1920s, Chin Mee Chin has remained a proud family business inspired by the Hainanese spirit. From our early beginnings as a bread delivery business to the iconic coffeeshop for communities around Katong, we’re a living story of tradition preserved with the test of time.

25-May-2022: D-25 before departure

I wanted to document some of my highlights of my 6 years in Singapore and the woodwork workshop at Tombalek was a big part of my time in Singapore.

I originally went because I wanted to go back to working with wood. At the time they were only offering guitar making and I was willing to do it but then a chair workshop was offered and I signed up. I kept on signing up for other workshop: a table, a little bench, another chair and so on.
