Monday Murals – Chinatown Wet Market by Yio Yew Chong (December 2021)

Part 2 – The right side of the murals. Yip Yew Chong’s murals are getting bigger and bigger and with so much details that they are hard to photograph in one frame (plus they are often in arrow side alley)

The wet market scene is the 5th of 6 scenes I conceptualized back in 2016 to paint murals in Chinatown. I self-initiated the project following the warm public reception to the murals at Everton Road and Tiong Bahru. I called it “Dreams of Chinatown “ to pay tribute to the old Chinatown I grew up in with fond memories in the 1970s/80s. I managed to pull 4 scenes up in 2018, 2019. I hope the 6th scene (clog maker) can be materialized i. 2022. After this dream is full files, I’ll close shop in Chinatown. (From YYC Instagram)

Sri Lanka – Day 6.

Saying good bye to my “domaine” 😉 in Ella (didn’t get to use the pool but it had an amazing view so had to take a picture to immortalize it)

We are heading to Udawalawe and its National Park.
I hope you like pictures of elephants (and baby elephants) in their natural habitat 😂

This is one of this trip where you have a hard time choosing one photo to repost because how can you choose between the Tuk Tuk ride among the tea plantation hills, the baby elephant with his mom by the road in Udawalawe National Park, the train ride between Nuwara Eliya and Ella which often described as one of the world most picturesque ride, the night we spent in UNESCO world heritage site, Galle Fort and let’s not forget the Tuk Tuk visit of the hidden gem ls of Colombo. But my favorites pictures are always the one I snap along the roads, at markets and of the daily life, so I chose the eye catching pool reflection picture.

This was our first trip as a traveling family of 3 (because we are still a family of 4, even if one is at college hence not traveling with us) and the closest of a photography trip without being a photography trip.
