A Total TaiTai Tale

Tale of a Total TaiTai who was in Beijing & Beyond and is now in Singapore & Surroundings!

I have been choosing a word to define my year for a few years. I don’t know how I choose it, it usually comes to me in December.

I oscillated between a few words for 2022 but I think I have settled with Transition.

There will be a few transitions this year. Transition from Singapore to France; from Expat life to non Expat life; from daily motherhood to empty nester; from living in a foreign country to your home country, but which hasn’t been home in over 2 decades…. Lots of transitions but I’m up for the challenge.

For references, last year word was Resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. The previous 2 years were Kismet: The belief that what happens to you in your life is already planned and that you cannot control it. (Talk about predictions 101!!) and Serendipity; the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.

Pyongyang from above. Amazing

1-Jan-2022: D-169 before departure

November 2015. Pyongyang, DPRK/North Korea

Well let’s start the year reposting past trips with a bang.

Not a lot of people get to visit North Korea (about 5,000 foreigners a year -Chinese national not included) and even less get to see Pyongyang from above in a military helicopter (one of the first flight offered and then it got discontinued)

2015 was a year of interesting experiences. Experiences that will definitely stay with me.

~~~Just a little FYI So for my last 200 days in Singapore I have decided to reblog, in no special order, a post from the 6 years I will have spent on the Little Red Dot.
*Well I changed my mind. Since it’s vacation time and I cannot travel I want to relive our experiences in Asia with a few pictures.
I have excluded pictures of our trips because I have already reposted them while we were stuck on our Little island during the past 2 years (& you can find them here!). PS: you will then get 2 posts a day!! ~~~
