+ Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain & South Korea (Germany + Brunei already had their Vaccinated Travel Lane).

Travel to Singapore will also be made easier, with visitors under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme only needing two Covid-19 swab test in order to enter Singapore, down from the current four.

This was yesterday good news

For us it means that J & I could go to France for the Christmas break (yet I’m a bit wary of the change of policy at the last minute* à la May “We cancel all pre approval entry” measure) but more realistically Hubby can come visit us. This VTL not only applies to residents in Singapore but also tourists. It would be good for him, escaping winter in Europe and enjoying humidity in the tropics 😂. And if nothing changes before May next year both hubby and daughter would be able to come for Son’s graduation 👨🏻‍🎓

While all the expat wives have been posting non stop of all their winter plans in the expat forums, we tend to forget that what we were expecting the Prime Minister speech would be more on the loosening of the restrictions (especially the 2-people gathering) when in fact he actually announced more restrictions for unvaccinated people, who wouldn’t have access to Hawker Centers and Malls (+ that includes grocery stores that are in a mall). How to drown a fish Singapore style 😉
