Bencoolen MRT station is the deepest MRT station in Singapore at 43m below street level.
The six-level underground station is only 22-meter wide as the space between buildings along the street is only 25 mètres. The interior walls are curvilinear that resembles canyon walls while earth-tone colors were used to represent the many layers of soil emphasizing the depth of space.
However I’ve been to a MRT station far deeper (2.5 times actually)…. can you guess where? (Answer here)
On a side note: Abesses Metro station in Paris at 36 meters below ground is not too far behind and the deepest station in Paris.
