Who needs to go to Africa for a safari to justify buying that 600mm f/4 lens*? Tiny birds in a tree on a morning walk at the Botanical Gardens have the same effect 😉

Singapore is home to about 400 species in which some are endangered. It’s also part of the East Asian-Australasian flyway, a migratory route used by birds flying south for the winter. Birds watching and birds photography is a huge hobby. Well at least that’s the only place I’ve seen so many huge lenses, besides behind a window at a photography store!!!

*Retail price: US$13,000 and by the way I have no ideas which lenses they had. Apparently the 400mm f2.8 is a popular choice.

NB: this photo was taken exactly a year ago, way before social distancing and face masking world. Feel almost like a lifetime ago. #Nostalgia
