If they don’t have it, it probably doesn’t exist.
Ok maybe not entirely true but I’ve learned that it’s not because I don’t see it that’s they don’t have it. ALWAYS ask them, they will more often than not have it somewhere in those packed shelves. Little store at the bottom of the HDB that we are lucky to have next door…. with a food court and a wet market. #iLoveMyNeighborhood
We used that have them in France, the small version of the hardware store… La Quincaillerie. The British translation is ironmonger. If you look up the word in Spanish (European or Latin American) it says ferreteria but in Argentina we had one next to our place it had “Quincailleria” on the storefront, they loved everything French and I guess they wanted to be it and there also I could find everything I needed.

I might had to push furniture to the perimeter and we might had to move our chairs from the dining table to the mahjong table but monthly Mahjong night with the girls is happening tonight in my humble 25th floor apartment.
The wine flowed as much as usual… until next time.

I used to “hide” a $50 note in my wallet/purse/bag in case I had an emergency.
I’ve been doing it since university when I got caught without any money at a cafe…. long story short I went back the next day to pay my debt and a few times I had to use my emergency $50 to pay for taxi/grab when they didn’t accept or the credit card didn’t work.
But I digress nowadays I “hide” surgical masks in case of emergency (for example if the straps would break)

Singapore where the airport is a great place to take your date 😉
Going down memory lane this past 2 weeks with October Break Throw Back and this summer with Throw Back Thursday of our summer vacation I realize how lucky we’ve been to visit so many amazing places … and this was just the vacation I had documented on this blog, Facebook was kind (or is it cruel this year?) enough to remind me of our other October Breaks trips: London in 2011, Prague in 2010, Rome in 2009, Tokyo/Kyoto in 2008 and Guilin & in 2007.

2015 was quite the year, trips wise. From my trip in Nepal with a slice of earthquake to the trip in North Korea, I clocked in 10 countries in 12 months that year Vs 0 country in 12 months in 2020… maybe I should go on a nostalgic trip to Changi Airport

Throw Back Week – Solo Trip 2015 in North Korea
Let’s end this Throw Back October Breaks series with a bang 😎
So this one was not a photography (per se) trip nor a “en amoureux” trip it. It was a “ 20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do…. Sail away from the safe harbor… Explore. Dream. Discover” Mark Twain. Here’s the post where I explain: https://atotaltaitaitale.tumblr.com/post/134729643366/celinenorthkorea
As usual all the pictures of the trip are here: https://atotaltaitaitale.tumblr.com/tagged/CelineInNorthKorea/chrono

Just an reminder: Inspired by the Throw Back Thursday of our summer vacation I did in July and August and since we cannot travel again during this October Break, I’ve decided to revisit the idea with a Throw Back Week of our trips around Asia during school vacation for the past 6 years. It’s not because we cannot physically travel that we cannot at least escape in our head. Enjoy the others it’s a chance to discover old postings 😉
