Monday Murals Reminiscing Old Changi Days by Yip Yew Chong

This 37m long mural at Changi Airport Terminal 4 Basement level reminisces the old Changi days before Changi Airport was built in 1970s. From aeroplane-watching at Changi beach, to peeking over the fence of the Royal Air Force Station; From playing ‘tarik upih’ with village kids, to shopping and dining at the variety of shophouses lining Changi Village; The mural transports you to a charming old world brimming with new aspirations.

Instead of taking a picture of the long mural on each side of the corridor I decided to take a picture of each panel and post them over a longer period of time. The murals are so full of details it seems like a waste of the artist work to not give it justice.

Home schooling is going great… kids are not quite so sure about the reintroduction of the Home Economics subject in their curriculum 😉

And we are all about gender equality too so both of them are enrolled!!

When you are tired of being stuck at home and you dream of future travel plan.

Future virtual travel plan thanks to Starbucks cup includes: Dubai, Brunei, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (Phuket) Australia (Sydney & Perth), China (Beijing & Shanghai 🤔) or even Munich, Edinburgh, and Barcelona (that’s the only cups we have in Singapore with us)

NB: Bali was not in our future plan, it was Vietnam as a family in a week or so and then Nepal for me for the 5th anniversary of the Earthquake with the same gang but I don’t have a Starbucks cup for either of those destinations (No Starbucks in Nepal or even in Vietnam when we went 10+ years ago)

After months of miss aligned agendas, I finally found a time and charming place just outside our office door to have a business lunch with my coworker…. while kids are at school (ie e-learning in their respective bedroom) 😉

Corona update: I gave decided to keep the Monday Murals posts… 1st because I have them planned until this summer break and I’m not throwing away all my hard work and 2nd I thought you could use a break from all my Corona & Quarantine posts at least once a week and that’s one less day I have to come up with ideas while confined at home.
