Who would have thought I would be sewing at a woodworking workshop?

My Tuesday commute lately.
It might come as a surprise to my friends.
My “love” of the beach is well documented…. well more my lack of love.
Ocean, wet hair, practicing huli (falling in water!) somehow doesn’t bother me as much. I guess it’s the inactivity near the beach/water that’s the problem!

Monday Murals – TRANS Family Service Center by Yip Yew Chong (1/3)
Another series of murals painted by Yip Yew Chong I had to chase in an HDB
The slogan on this newly painted mural is the mission and vision of TRANS Family Service Centre (FSC), a non profit secular organization that provides social services to individuals and families, from all walks of life, as they navigate through challenging times. Established in 1979, TRANS FSC now has 5 centres across Singapore that organise outreach activities and provide support and counseling to the communities. This mural was created to commemorate their 40 years of services.

How do we know seasons are changing in tropical Singapore?
Well first, shops start to sell winter clothes so there’s “nothing” to buy for the current Singapore weather.
Then you start to be super busy with all the Fairs: Boutique Fair, Charity Fair, Christmas Fair, Name-It Fair…
Quite a difference from how we knew winter was coming in Beijing
‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly Fa-la-la-la-la-la

Over the years, in every country I’ve lived I’ve met amazing women and I’ve tried to support them in any endeavors they take on… that can be going to see their amateur play like here, buy some products from their latest venture, telling other about their new business, or stepping in when they need somebody to hold their hand at a difficult time.

You try to stay incognito and the barista at Starbucks recognizes you.
For the side story…. when I moved to the States in 1990 people had a hard time with my name, they were like Saline? Sailing? Selena?… then the Titanic & Celine Dion happened and the narrative started to change “oh like Celine Dion” so it became my catch phrase: “Celine like Celine Dion but while I speak French like her, I don’t sing so well”. People always remember my name…. however doesn’t always work on the youngest generations 😂
On this case the barista stole my line when I told him my name 🤷♀️
