Cultural differences.

As Europeans, and because of our history (“collaboration”), we have a hard time with “délation” (act of denunciation) but it’s highly encourage here.

Neighbors telling on neighbors, people snapping pictures of your car not perfectly park exactly between the 2 lines, etc… Our condo Facebook group is full of it and we can very much see the difference of culture between the westerners and the locals.

Wednesday Woodworking Workshop – Week 6

After finding out everything that was not perfect so a few more round of sanding, it’s finally time for the oiling.

Such a different process than my previous workshop as this was when I would take my creation (masterpiece?) home. This time I’m only about 80% done. Next is the sewing.

It’s a team effort.

You barely see me but I’m in the front in the pink top (with my sleeves pull all the way to my wrists 😉).

PS: I know the horizon with the tankers makes it dreamy… I’m allowing you to be jealous with envy 😉

Wednesday Woodworking Workshop – Week 5

Let’s the sanding begin

40…80…120…240…400 paper grade. A few rounds of each and then when you realize you didn’t do it well enough you have to start over.

Repeating the mantra “I Love Woodworking” works well in that situation 😉

It’s called outrigger canoe… and to my own surprise I’m enjoying it a lot. The being in synch with all your teammates while paddling is great to my wandering mind… one split second of not concentrating and I’m off or not doing my strokes correctly.
