Les salines.

Just before reaching the parking and path to Saline’s beach there’s the former salt marsh.

Exploited until the early 1970s for its salt, today it’s a unique ecosystem on the island, a refuge for birds and several rare species come to reproduce here. It’s one of the greeenest area I. St Barthelemy.

Saline is another out of the way beach. Can hardly call it remote in such a small island 😉

This is the second largest beach in St Bart’s and with no buildings (hotels or villas) close by it’s quite secluded at the end of a path.

This is more popular with the locals (it’s a bit out of the hustle and bustle of the “center”) and I also learned apparently popular by nudists 😉
