I’m not one to haul back foods and stuff from back “home” in my luggage and I don’t miss much here (or wherever we were before). I’ve learned to live without them for the most part. It does help that I can find descent cheese and baguette in Beijing to wait until summer in France!

BUT I’m not one to pass on selling an arm and a leg (almost!) to indulge, from time to time, in some little treat from home.

Chestnuts spread from Bonne Maman couldn’t be passed when I saw it at the local Carrefour. Needless to say it was double locked in the cupboard and expressly forbidden to even be looked at by any members of the family.

Only 1000 calories per 100 grams. But I heard that calories that make you really really happy count half ;-).
